Phone Lines are an easy target for Burglars. They are well aware of the fact that cutting a phone line will not allow signals to be sent to the home security office or to the police. The owner or a neighbour has to specifically call the authorities in case of such break–ins.
Phone lines can be accidentaly cut due to excessive rain, snow storms and various other reasons. These False Alarms would cause genuine issues to be overlooked.
What does a Burglar do?
He locates the phone line and snips it off. There might be a lot of noise generated when the security system is triggered. The Burglar will then smash the noisemaker and continue looting the house. They know that the Monitoring Center will not be notified of the robbery.
How Do You Prevent a Burglar from cutting the phone line?
Make the phone line inaccessible. Certain states have regulations stating that phone lines have to come in through the roof and stay far above the ground. Check where your phone line is. Is it accessible from the ground? Try to determine ways in which you can make the phone line more secure.
You can also paste stickers from your Home Alarm Monitoring Company on your phone box and near the house. This will act as a deterrent for most robbers.
How can AlarmForce protect you when your phone line is cut ?
AlarmForce has a Patent Technology called AlarmPlus.
AlarmPlus is an additional level of protection which will be activated the instant the line is cut. When the phone line is disabled, a wireless signal will be sent to the central station and operators will dispatch the authorities. Other alarm systems will not send or receive a signal if your phone line has been cut, and as a result no authorities will be alerted of the break-in
AlarmPlus can be installed at any time. Simply contact us at 1-800-267-2001.
Testimonial from Nancy D.
“ I have been alone for 51/2 years, since my husband passed away. I am in the country - 15 acres - I probably would have had to go to town if I hadn’t had AlarmForce. I feel safe and that’s as good as it gets “
AlarmPlus, when combined with your existing Alarmvoice home security system, will send a wireless signal to the AlarmForce Central Monitoring Station should your telephone line be tampered with in any way. Alarmvoice provides two-way wireless voice communication.
What is live two-way communictaion, and what does it mean for safety
AlarmForce developed Alarmvoice, the patented two-way wireless voice communication system. Using this system we can speak live to the burglar and hear what is happening on the premises to see if anyone is in trouble and needs help. Other alarm companies may tell you that they provide voice communication, but it is only a pre-recorded chip. It is not LIVE, and it is only one-way. Additionally, AlarmForce provides full lifetime warranty for equipment malfunction on your monitored Alarmvoice system

One Response to “How To Stop Burglars From Cutting Phone Lines”
You guys have a well organized system. I am have been happy to have AlarmForce for the last two years. Originally I was concerned about phone line tampering even though you had a feature to remove this concern. But it worked fine in a crisis.
