Choose Your Home Alarm Company With Care

Posted by admin in Home Security

There is no denying the fact that home alarm systems are essential aids in protecting your home. They are an important part of the home-owner’s priority list and careful consideration must be given to choosing the right equipment from the best provider. It is the quality of the equipment that decides if your home is going to be breached or not and in these times when attacks and break-ins are frequent, assuring the quality of your protection equipment is important.

A Difficult Decision

For the home-owner who is the consumer, choosing the right alarm company for his dwelling can be a difficult decision to make. With competing companies trying to impress by displaying their diverse products and enticing offers, and each one claiming their service is the best, the layman consumer is likely to get confused. It’s not surprising that he often falls to the trickiness of marketing tactics to make a wrong choice that puts the security of his home and even life at risk.

Home Alarm Company Checklist

Given below are some of the things that the consumer should correctly check with the company before making the all important decision. There is more to it than mulling over how much money you will need to outlay to get the home alarm system and what equipment you will get at the time of installation. Besides the quality of the equipment itself, there are other factors to be determined such as the terms of the contract and the license information.

  • Check that the company is licensed to do business in your community.
  • Check for referrals from other customers in your area who have previously installed systems like the one you are considering.
  • Ensure that the company is an established one operating for at least three to five years.
  • Know where the company’s alarm system monitoring centre is located. Some companies have their central monitoring centre located in other provinces or states.
  • See to it that the company does the entire installation and does not delegate work through subcontractors.
  • Analyze the contract carefully before you sign to make sure everything is agreed on is in writing. Be clear about the warranty period and what is included in the warranty.

Make the Right Choice

The checklist above should help the uninformed home owner to make the right choice regarding his home alarm company. As you see, all you need to have is the courage to ask tough questions. It is your right to ask them and it is the duty of the company to respond satisfactorily. The moment you find that your questions are being turned down or being evaded, you realize that this is not the company that is going to protect you. So follow the checklist and make the right choice. After all it is the security of your home and family that is at stake.

Hi, as a single woman I felt I would benefit from a home alarm, possibly with back to base monitoing…but who am I to trust to give me an honest quote? I found Don Paterson in Sydney. It soon bacame obvious that he was very experienced in electronic security and had an open and honest approach ( did not recommend the most expensive system!
I have been very happy with my very discreet installation, no mess, easy to operate and knowing that Don will provide backup as necessary.
Highly recommended.
